Legislative Update: Year-End and 2021
This year, COVID-19 brought about several federal and jurisdictional measures that impact payroll such as a number of employer financial aid programs:
     • Canada Emergency Subsidy (CEWS)
     • Work-sharing programs
     • 10% Temporary Wage Subsidy for Employers (TWSE)
     • Workers' Compensation deferral programs
     • Employee Programs such as Canada Emergency Response (CERB) and Pandemic Pay
     • Job protected leaves and Temporary Layoff measures
     • Labour and Employment Standards Changes
     • New Codes for the T4

Two On Demand Webinar Sessions
Box-by-box Federal Year-End reporting (4.5 hours)
     • Review of PIER audit
     • T4 and T4A slips and summary
     • Quebec Year-End reporting
     • Review of RL-1 and summary

Year-End Reconciliation (1.5 hours)
     • Reconciliation process to balance T4 slips to remittance account if 10% subsidy used
     • Requirements to report CEWS payments in new T4 slip box

Credit Information

Earn 4.5 Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs) or .45 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) when attending this live program. RCHs and CEUs are not available for the Canadian On Demand courses. This event does not qualify for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
